Generous Dentist
Dr. Michael Tischler of Teeth Tomorrow decided to give a veteran a new smile. Larry “Smiley” Kleiman, a U.S. veteran, served two tours in Vietnam. Today, he volunteers at his local fire station as a firefighter and EMT. Unfortunately, Mr. Kleiman couldn’t afford to replace his lost teeth. Dr. Tischler offered the veteran a full set of teeth worth $60,000 for free. The dentist believed that the veteran had already done the greatest act of service by protecting the country. The least he could do was serve Kleiman.
Puppy Road Trip
While traveling from Los Angeles to Colorado, Jordan Kahana came across a puppy surprise in the desert. Kahana is a freelance digital director and often takes long road trips to his job sites. On one of his trips, he came across two puppies stranded in the desert. After taking the dogs to the vet, Kahana adopted both puppies. Sedona and Zeus now travel with Kahana on his work trips. Together, they have driven over 32,000 miles through 35 states from coast to coast.
Straw Swap
5-Year-old Ava wrote a special letter to her favorite pizza shop to make a “green” change. Pizza Express, Ava’s favorite pizza restaurant, uses one-time-use plastic straws. After learning about biodegradable products and becoming “greener” with her family, Ava decided to ask the restaurant to join in by making better choices with its straws. The Italian food restaurant, with over 470 branches worldwide, decided to drop all its wasteful utensils because of the heartfelt letter.
